Monaco beats Lyon in shoot out to reach Coupe de la Ligue quarterfinals

LYON, Dec. 17, 2014 (AMP) — Coupe de la Ligue 2014-15 : Monaco qualified to the quarter-finals of the Coupe de la Ligue after defeating Lyon 5-4 on penalties (after a 1-1 draw) on Wednesday night at the Stade de Gerland in Lyon.

The score was still 1-1 at the end of the regulation game time and overtime, after goals from Yannick Ferreira Carrasco ('94) for Monaco and Alexandre Lacazette ('105) for Lyon. Monaco finally emerged the victors in the penalty shootout session by winning 5-4.
