Bordeaux beats Lorient to advance to Coupe de la Ligue semifinals

BORDEAUX, Jan. 12, 2016 (AMP) — Coupe de la Ligue 2015-16 : Bordeaux reached the semifinals of the Coupe de la Ligue with a 2-0 win against Lorient (halftime: 1-0) on Tuesday night at the Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux.

Bordeaux dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Czech midfielder Jaroslav Plasil in the 44th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, Bordeaux players further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Chaigneau into his own net in the 56th minute.
