NICOSIE, Nov. 20, 2002 (AMP) — Portugal 2004 (Qualifiers) : Cyprus defeated Malta by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2004 UEFA European Championship on Wednesday night.
The result put the Cypriot third in Group 1 with 3 points. Malta is bottom with no points. In their next game, Cyprus will meet second-placed Israel on March 29, while Malta will face France.
