TA' QALI, Jun. 7, 2003 (AMP) — Portugal 2004 (Qualifiers) : Cyprus defeated Malta by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2004 UEFA European Championship on Saturday night.
The result put the Cypriot fourth in Group 1 with 7 points. Malta is bottom with no points. In their next game, Cyprus will meet group leaders France on September 6, while Malta will face Israel.
