LJUBLJANA, Sep. 6, 2003 (AMP) — Portugal 2004 (Qualifiers) : Slovenia defeated Israel by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2004 UEFA European Championship on Saturday night.
The result put the Slovenians second in Group 1 with 13 points. Israel is third with 8 points. In their next game, Slovenia will meet group leaders France on September 10, while Israel will face Malta.
