REYKJAVíK, Jun. 7, 2003 (AMP) — Portugal 2004 (Qualifiers) : Iceland defeated the Faroe islands by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2004 UEFA European Championship on Saturday afternoon.
The result put the Icelander fourth in Group 5 with 6 points. The Faroe islands is bottom with one point. In their next game, Iceland will meet third-placed Lithuania on June 11, while the Faroe islands will face Germany.
