TóRSHAVN, Aug. 20, 2003 (AMP) — Portugal 2004 (Qualifiers) : Iceland defeated the Faroe islands by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2004 UEFA European Championship on Wednesday night.
The result put the Icelander top of Group 5 with 12 points. The Faroe islands is bottom with one point. In their next game, Iceland will meet second-placed Germany on September 6, while the Faroe islands will face Scotland.
