Spain beats Italy in shoot out to advance to Euro semifinals
VIENNA, Jun. 22, 2008 (AMP) — Austria Swizerland 2008 : Spain reached the semifinals of the 2008 UEFA Euro after defeating Italy 4-2 on penalties (after a 0-0 draw) on Sunday night at the Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna.
The score was still nil-all at the end of the regulation game time and overtime. The Spaniards finally emerged the victors in the penalty shootout session by winning 4-2.
