TóRSHAVN, Oct. 7, 2006 (AMP) — Austria Swizerland 2008 (Qualifiers) : Lithuania defeated the Faroe islands by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2008 UEFA European Championship on Saturday afternoon.
The result put the Lithuanians third in Group B with 4 points. The Faroe islands is bottom with no points. In their next game, Lithuania will meet second-placed France on March 24, while the Faroe islands will face France.
