KAUNAS, Sep. 12, 2007 (AMP) — Austria Swizerland 2008 (Qualifiers) : Lithuania defeated the Faroe islands by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2008 UEFA European Championship on Wednesday night.
The result put the Lithuanians 5th in Group B with 10 points. The Faroe islands is bottom with no points. In their next game, Lithuania will meet group leaders France on October 17, while the Faroe islands will face France.
