NICOSIA, Mar. 24, 2007 (AMP) — Austria Swizerland 2008 (Qualifiers) : Slovakia defeated Cyprus by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 0-1), in a qualifying game for the 2008 UEFA European Championship on Saturday night.
The result put the Slovak fourth in Group D with 9 points. Cyprus is 5th with 4 points. In their next game, Slovakia will meet third-placed Ireland on March 28, while Cyprus will face Czech republic.
