HAMBURG, Jun. 6, 2007 (AMP) — Austria Swizerland 2008 (Qualifiers) : Germany defeated Slovakia by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 2-1), in a qualifying game for the 2008 UEFA European Championship on Wednesday night.
The result put the Germans top of Group D with 19 points. Slovakia is fourth with 9 points. In their next game, Germany will meet Wales on September 8, while Slovakia will face Ireland.
