NICOSIA, Oct. 13, 2007 (AMP) — Austria Swizerland 2008 (Qualifiers) : Cyprus defeated Wales by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 0-1), in a qualifying game for the 2008 UEFA European Championship on Saturday night.
The result put the Cypriot 5th in Group D with 13 points. Wales is 6th with 10 points. In their next game, Cyprus will meet third-placed Ireland on October 17, while Wales will face San Marino.
