MOSCOW, Oct. 17, 2007 (AMP) — Austria Swizerland 2008 (Qualifiers) : Russia defeated England by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-1), in a qualifying game for the 2008 UEFA European Championship on Wednesday night.
The result put the English second in Group E with 23 points. Russia is third with 21 points. In their last game, England will meet group leaders Croatia on November 21, while Russia will face Israel.
