RAMAT-GAN, Nov. 17, 2007 (AMP) — Austria Swizerland 2008 (Qualifiers) : Israel defeated Russia by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2008 UEFA European Championship on Saturday night.
The result put the Russians third in Group E with 21 points. Israel is fourth with 20 points. In their last game, Russia will meet Andorra on November 21, while Israel will face Macedonia.
