REYKJAVíK, Oct. 11, 2006 (AMP) — Austria Swizerland 2008 (Qualifiers) : Sweden defeated Iceland by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a qualifying game for the 2008 UEFA European Championship on Wednesday night.
The result put the Swedish top of Group F with 12 points. Iceland is 6th with 3 points. In their next game, Sweden will meet third-placed Northern Ireland on March 28, while Iceland will face Spain.
