BELFAST, Mar. 28, 2007 (AMP) — Austria Swizerland 2008 (Qualifiers) : Northern Ireland defeated Sweden by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a qualifying game for the 2008 UEFA European Championship on Wednesday night.
The result put the Irish top of Group F with 13 points. Sweden is second with 12 points. In their next game, Northern Ireland will meet Liechtenstein on August 22, while Sweden will face Denmark.
