PALMA DE MALLORCA, Mar. 28, 2007 (AMP) — Austria Swizerland 2008 (Qualifiers) : Spain defeated Iceland by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2008 UEFA European Championship on Wednesday night.

The result put the Spaniard third in Group F with 9 points. Iceland is 6th with 3 points. In their next game, Spain will meet Latvia on June 2, while Iceland will face Liechtenstein.
