BELFAST, Aug. 22, 2007 (AMP) — Austria Swizerland 2008 (Qualifiers) : Northern Ireland defeated Liechtenstein by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2008 UEFA European Championship on Wednesday night.
The result put the Irish second in Group F with 16 points. Liechtenstein is 6th with 4 points. In their next game, Northern Ireland will meet Latvia on September 8, while Liechtenstein will face Denmark.
