REYKJAVíK, Oct. 13, 2007 (AMP) — Austria Swizerland 2008 (Qualifiers) : Latvia defeated Iceland by a score of 4-2 (halftime: 3-1), in a qualifying game for the 2008 UEFA European Championship on Saturday afternoon.
The result put the Latvians 5th in Group F with 9 points. Iceland is 6th with 8 points. In their next game, Latvia will meet Denmark on October 17, while Iceland will face Liechtenstein.
