Euro 2012 Qualifiers : France beats Albania 2-1
TIRANA, Sep. 2, 2011 (AMP) — Poland Ukraine 2012 (Qualifiers) : France defeated Albania by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2012 UEFA European Championship on Friday night at the Qemal Stafa Stadium in Tirana.
France dominated the first half thanks to goals from Benzema ('11) and M'Vila ('18). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Frenchs further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by in the th minute.
The result put the French top of Group D with 16 points. Albania is 5th with 8 points. In their next game, France will meet Romania at the Qemal Stafa Stadium on September 6, while Albania will face Luxembourg.
