Italy beats Spain to reach Euro quarterfinals
SAINT DENIS, Jun. 27, 2016 (AMP) — France 2016 : Italy qualified to the quarter-finals of the 2016 UEFA Euro with a 2-0 win against Spain (halftime: 1-0) on Monday night at the Stade de France in Saint Denis.
Italy dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by defender Giorgio Chiellini in the 33rd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Italians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Pellè in stoppage time.
