Portugal beats France 1-0 in extra time to win 2016 Euro
SAINT DENIS, Jul. 10, 2016 (AMP) — France 2016 : Portugal claimed the UEFA Euro crown courtesy of a 1-0 extra time victory over France (following a 0-0 draw in regulation) in the final on Sunday night at the Stade de France in Saint Denis.
The score was still nil-all after the 90 minutes of regulation time and both teams had to wait for overtime to settle the issue. In the 109th minute, it was ultimately the Portuguese striker Éder who brought Portugal to victory by scoring the winning goal.
