Euro 2016 Qualifiers : Czech republic beats Iceland 2-1
PLZEň, Nov. 16, 2014 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Czech republic defeated Iceland by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Sunday night at the Doosan Arena in Plzeň.
R. Sigurðsson opened the score in the 9th minute, before seeing Czech republic catch up in the 45th minute thanks to Kadeřábek. 1-1 at half time. The Czechs eventually won the game in the second period with with a goal by Böðvarsson into his own net in the 61st minute.
The result put the Czech top of Group A with 12 points. Iceland is second with 9 points. In their next game, Czech republic will meet Latvia at the Doosan Arena on March 28, while Iceland will face Kazakhstan.
