Euro 2016 Qualifiers : Turkey defeats Kazakhstan 3-1
ISTANBUL, Nov. 16, 2014 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Turkey defeated Kazakhstan by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Sunday night at the Türk Telekom Arena in Istanbul.
Yılmaz scored dual goals
Turkey dominated the first half thanks to goals from Yılmaz ('26 on penalty, '29). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Turks further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Aziz with just 7 minutes remaining in regulation time.
The result put the Turk fourth in Group A with 4 points. Kazakhstan is bottom with one point. In their next game, Turkey will meet third-placed the Netherlands at the Türk Telekom Arena on March 28, while Kazakhstan will face Iceland.
