Euro 2016 Qualifiers : Netherlands and Turkey tied at 1-1
AMSTERDAM, Mar. 28, 2015 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : The Netherlands tied 1-1 with Turkey (halftime: 0-1), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Saturday night.
The Turks started off well by taking the lead thanks to Yılmaz in the 37th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by the Netherlands with a saving goal from Dutch forward Klaas-Jan Huntelaar in the 90th minute.
The result put the Dutch third in Group A with 7 points. Turkey is fourth with 5 points. In their next game, the Netherlands will meet Latvia on June 12, while Turkey will face Kazakhstan.
