RIGA, Jun. 12, 2015 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : The Netherlands defeated Latvia by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Friday night at the Skonto Stadium in Riga.
45 minutes of play and neither the Dutchs nor the Latvians have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with goals by Wijnaldum ('67) and Narsingh ('71).
The result put the Dutch third in Group A with 10 points. Latvia is 5th with 3 points. In their next game, the Netherlands will meet group leaders Iceland at the Skonto Stadium on September 3, while Latvia will face Turkey.
