Euro 2016 Qualifiers : Turkey beats Netherlands 3-0
KONYA, Sep. 6, 2015 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Turkey defeated the Netherlands by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Sunday night at the Torku Arena in Konya.
Turkey dominated the first half thanks to goals from Özyakup ('8) and Turan ('26). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Turks further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Yılmaz with just 4 minutes remaining in regulation time.
The result put the Turk third in Group A with 12 points. The Netherlands is fourth with 10 points. In their next game, Turkey will meet group leaders Czech republic at the Torku Arena on October 10, while the Netherlands will face Kazakhstan.
