Euro 2016 Qualifiers : Israel beats Cyprus 2-1
NICOSIA, Oct. 10, 2014 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Israel defeated Cyprus by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Friday night at the GSP Stadium in Nicosia.
Israel dominated the first half thanks to goals from Damari ('38) and Ben Haim II ('45). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Israelians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by in the th minute.
The result put the Israelians third in Group B with 3 points. Cyprus is fourth with 3 points. In their next game, Israel will meet Andorra at the GSP Stadium on October 13, while Cyprus will face Wales.
