Euro 2016 Qualifiers : Wales beats Cyprus 1-0
NICOSIA, Sep. 3, 2015 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Wales defeated Cyprus by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Thursday night at the GSP Stadium in Nicosia.
Cyprus made the Welshs doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Welsh midfielder Gareth Bale with just 8 minutes remaining in regulation time.
The result put the Welsh top of Group B with 17 points. Cyprus is fourth with 9 points. In their next game, Wales will meet third-placed Israel at the GSP Stadium on September 6, while Cyprus will face Belgium.
