Euro 2016 Qualifiers : Cyprus defeats Israel 2-1
JERUSALEM, Oct. 10, 2015 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Cyprus defeated Israel by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Saturday night at the Teddy Stadium in Jerusalem.
45 minutes of play and neither the Cypriots nor the Israelians have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with goals by Dossa Júnior ('58) and Demetriou ('80).
The result put the Israelians fourth in Group B with 13 points. Cyprus is 5th with 12 points. In their last game, Israel will meet group leaders Belgium at the Teddy Stadium on October 13, while Cyprus will face Bosnia and Herzegovina.
