Euro 2016 Qualifiers : Luxembourg and Belarus play to a 1-1 draw
LUXEMBOURG, Sep. 8, 2014 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Luxembourg tied 1-1 with Belarus (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Monday night at the Stade Josy Barthel in Luxembourg.
The Luxembourgers started off well by taking the lead thanks to Gerson in the 42nd minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Belarus with a saving goal from Drahun in the 78th minute.
The result left both teams tied in the third place of Group C with one point. In their next game, Belarus will meet Ukraine at the Stade Josy Barthel on October 9, while Luxembourg will face Macedonia.
