BORISOV, Oct. 9, 2014 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Ukraine defeated Belarus by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Thursday night at the Borisov Arena.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with goals by Martynovich ('82 own) and Sydorchuk ('90).
The result put the Ukrainians third in Group C with 3 points. Belarus is bottom with one point. In their next game, Ukraine will meet Macedonia at the Borisov Arena on October 12, while Belarus will face Slovakia.
