BORISOV, Oct. 12, 2014 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Slovakia defeated Belarus by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Sunday night at the Borisov Arena.
Marek Hamsik scored dual goals
Belarus made the Slovaks doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with goals by Hamsik ('65, '84) and Šesták ('90).
The result put the Slovak top of Group C with 9 points. Belarus is 5th with one point. In their next game, Slovakia will meet Macedonia at the Borisov Arena on November 15, while Belarus will face Spain.
