LUXEMBOURG, Oct. 12, 2014 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Spain defeated Luxembourg by a big score of 4-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Sunday night at the Stade Josy Barthel in Luxembourg.
Spain dominated the first half thanks to goals from Silva ('27) and Alcácer ('42). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Spaniards further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Costa '69 and Bernat '88).
The result put the Spaniard second in Group C with 6 points. Luxembourg is bottom with one point. In their next game, Spain will meet Belarus at the Stade Josy Barthel on November 15, while Luxembourg will face Ukraine.
