Euro 2016 Qualifiers : Slovakia defeats Macedonia 2-1
ŽILINA, Jun. 14, 2015 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Slovakia defeated Macedonia by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Sunday night at the Štadión pod Dubňom in Žilina.
Slovakia dominated the first half thanks to goals from Saláta ('8) and Hamsik ('38). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Slovaks further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by in the th minute.
The result put the Slovak top of Group C with 18 points. Macedonia is 5th with 3 points. In their next game, Slovakia will meet second-placed Spain at the Štadión pod Dubňom on September 5, while Macedonia will face Luxembourg.
