Euro 2016 Qualifiers : Spain defeats Luxembourg 4-0
LOGRONO, Oct. 9, 2015 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Spain defeated Luxembourg by a big score of 4-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Friday night at the Estadio Las Gaunas in Logrono.
Santi Cazorla and Paco Alcácer scored dual goals
Spain dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by midfielder Santi Cazorla in the 42nd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Spaniards further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (Alcácer '67, '80 and Cazorla '85).
The result put the Spaniard top of Group C with 24 points. Luxembourg is 5th with 4 points. In their last game, Spain will meet second-placed Ukraine at the Estadio Las Gaunas on October 12, while Luxembourg will face Slovakia.
