Euro 2016 Qualifiers : Ireland beats Georgia 2-1
TBILISI, Sep. 7, 2014 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Ireland defeated Georgia by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Sunday night at the Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena in Tbilisi.
McGeady scored dual goals
Irish midfielder McGeady opened the score in the 24th minute, before seeing Georgia catch up in the 38th minute thanks to Okriashvili. 1-1 at half time. The Irishs eventually won the game in the second period with with another goal by McGeady seconds before the end of regulation.
The result put the Irish top of Group D with 3 points. In their next game, Ireland will meet Gibraltar at the Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena on October 11, while Georgia will face Scotland.
