Euro 2016 Qualifiers : Ireland beats Gibraltar 7-0
DUBLIN, Oct. 11, 2014 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Ireland defeated Gibraltar by a big score of 7-0 (halftime: 3-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Saturday night at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.
Robbie Keane scored tripple goals
Ireland dominated the first half thanks to goals from Keane ('6, '14, '18 on penalty). Leading 3-0 at the break, the Irishs further widened their lead in the second period by scoring four times (McClean '46, '53, J. Perez '52/own and Hoolahan '56).
The result put the Irish top of Group D with 6 points. Gibraltar is bottom with no points. In their next game, Ireland will meet third-placed Germany at the Aviva Stadium on October 14, while Gibraltar will face Georgia.
