Euro 2016 Qualifiers : Ireland and Poland tied at 1-1
DUBLIN, Mar. 29, 2015 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Ireland tied 1-1 with Poland (halftime: 0-1), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Sunday night at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.
The Poles started off well by taking the lead thanks to Polish midfielder Peszko in the 26th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Ireland with a saving goal from Irish forward Shane Long in the 90th minute.
The result put the Pole top of Group D with 11 points. Ireland is fourth with 8 points. In their next game, Poland will meet Georgia at the Aviva Stadium on June 13, while Ireland will face Scotland.
