DUBLIN, Sep. 7, 2015 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Ireland defeated Georgia by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Monday night at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.
Georgia made the Irishs doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by Walters in the 69th minute.
The result put the Irish third in Group D with 15 points. Georgia is 5th with 6 points. In their next game, Ireland will meet group leaders Germany at the Aviva Stadium on October 8, while Georgia will face Gibraltar.
