DUBLIN, Oct. 8, 2015 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Ireland defeated Germany by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Thursday night at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.
Germany made the Irishs doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Irish forward Shane Long in the 70th minute.
The result put the Germans top of Group D with 19 points. Ireland is third with 18 points. In their last game, Germany will meet Georgia at the Aviva Stadium on October 11, while Ireland will face Poland.
