TALLINN, Sep. 8, 2014 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Estonia defeated Slovenia by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Monday night at the A. Le Coq Arena in Tallinn.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by Purje with just 4 minutes remaining in regulation time.
The result put the Estonians third in Group E with 3 points. In their next game, Estonia will meet group leaders Lithuania at the A. Le Coq Arena on October 9, while Slovenia will face Switzerland.
