BASEL, Sep. 8, 2014 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : England defeated Switzerland by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Monday night at St. Jakob-Park in Basel.
Danny Welbeck scored dual goals
45 minutes of play and neither the Englishs nor the Swisss have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with two goals by English forward Danny Welbeck at '58 and '90.
The result put the English top of Group E with 3 points. In their next game, England will meet San Marino at St. Jakob-Park on October 9, while Switzerland will face Slovenia.
