Euro 2016 Qualifiers : England beats San Marino 5-0
LONDON, Oct. 9, 2014 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : England defeated San Marino by a big score of 5-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Thursday night at Wembley Stadium.
England dominated the first half thanks to goals from Jagielka ('25) and Rooney ('43 on penalty). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Englishs further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (Welbeck '49, Townsend '72 and Della Valle '78/own).
The result put the English top of Group E with 6 points. San Marino is bottom with no points. In their next game, England will meet third-placed Estonia at Wembley Stadium on October 12, while San Marino will face Switzerland.
