Euro 2016 Qualifiers : England beats Slovenia 3-1
LONDON, Nov. 15, 2014 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : England defeated Slovenia by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Saturday night at Wembley Stadium.
Danny Welbeck scored dual goals
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with goals by Rooney ('59 on penalty) and Welbeck ('66, '72).
The result put the English top of Group E with 12 points. Slovenia is third with 6 points. In their next game, England will meet second-placed Lithuania at Wembley Stadium on March 27, while Slovenia will face San Marino.
