Euro 2016 Qualifiers : Slovenia beats San Marino 6-0
LJUBLJANA, Mar. 27, 2015 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Slovenia defeated San Marino by a big score of 6-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Friday night at the Stozice Stadium in Ljubljana.
Slovenia dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by midfielder Josip Iličić in the 10th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Slovenians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring five times (Kampl '49, Struna '50, Novakovič '52, Lazarević '73 and Ilič '88).
The result put the Slovenians third in Group E with 9 points. San Marino is bottom with one point. In their next game, Slovenia will meet group leaders England at the Stozice Stadium on June 14, while San Marino will face Estonia.
