VILNIUS, Jun. 14, 2015 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Switzerland defeated Lithuania by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Sunday night at the LFF Stadium in Vilnius.
45 minutes of play and neither the Swisss nor the Lithuanians have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with goals by Drmić ('69) and Shaqiri ('84).
The result put the Swiss second in Group E with 12 points. Lithuania is 5th with 6 points. In their next game, Switzerland will meet third-placed Slovenia at the LFF Stadium on September 5, while Lithuania will face Estonia.
