Euro 2016 Qualifiers : Switzerland defeats Slovenia 3-2
BASEL, Sep. 5, 2015 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Switzerland defeated Slovenia by a score of 3-2 (halftime: 0-1), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Saturday night at St. Jakob-Park in Basel.
Josip Drmić scored dual goals
Slovenia had started off well by taking the lead in the 45th minute with a goal by forward Milivoje Novakovič. Trailing 1-0 at half time, the Swisss nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring three times in the second period (Drmić '80, '90 and Stocker '84).
The result put the Swiss second in Group E with 15 points. Slovenia is fourth with 9 points. In their next game, Switzerland will meet group leaders England at St. Jakob-Park on September 8, while Slovenia will face Estonia.
