Euro 2016 Qualifiers : Lithuania beats San Marino 2-1
VILNIUS, Sep. 8, 2015 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Lithuania defeated San Marino by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Tuesday night at the LFF Stadium in Vilnius.
Lithuania dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Černych in the 7th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Lithuanians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Spalvis in stoppage time.
The result put the Lithuanians 5th in Group E with 9 points. San Marino is bottom with one point. In their next game, Lithuania will meet third-placed Slovenia at the LFF Stadium on October 9, while San Marino will face Switzerland.
